Nia Elizabeth Hagins is a young, beautiful, and successful attorney who is well on her way to learning several lessons in love – the hard way. Ironically, it is the experience of a recent heartbreak that forced Nia to realize that self-love is not a cliché, it is work – hard work. It is also a journey that requires frequent stops to refuel, refocus, and recommit. A Table for One is a compelling story about how Nia attempts to navigate this journey at a time in her life when her relationship and her career both offer distracting detours. In this page-turner you’ll see how Nia is willing to do anything, to include reinventing herself, in order to make sure she arrives at her destination in-tact, at peace, and unapologetically happy – even if it means she arrives there alone.
This page-turning debut novella by Ms. Scott is a 58 page 5 x 0.15 x 8 inches book available through Amazon.com for $10.99 (or Amazon Kindle for $7.49). A Table For One is also available as a limited autographed edition for $13.99 from the author directly.
What are people saying about A Table For One?
This novella was a brief yet oh-so-deep exploration of the way so many of us are taught to ignore ourselves and look outside ourselves for what we need. The fact that it was a novella, shorter than a conventional novel, allowed me to read it in a day, which was great for my schedule. It’s been a while since I’ve read something that’s given me pause and brought me to a moment of tears, but this book did that. Thank you, Ms. Scott, for heeding the call to write this book. You’re doing healing work!
Loved this book! A quick read that is thought provoking, self reflective, and powerful. Relatable and the kick in the pants to stay on track.
Phenomenal novel! It addresses the real life issue that so many women experience! We give so much of ourselves often with very little in return. We are our own worse critics. This book forced me to self reflect and realize that I need to be kinder to myself. Great read! I can’t wait for the next one!
I love your peace equation: My Happiness + The Fulfillment of My Purpose = The Creation and Sustainment of My Peace
The poetry – it made me feel [Nia’s] pain and it was overwhelming. Nia is very complex-she has to be in order for a great number of women to see themselves in her. I don’t know how you did it…but she is us-all of us in some form.
Hey Sis, when you said you were writing a book, I didn’t think you were writing a book about me lol. It is scary how relatable this story is to me personally. While I was reading it I could picture myself as Nia. I think a lot of people are going to be able to relate.
Phenomenal!
This story clearly resonates with the modern woman.
